Ingredients

1 lb ground beef (preferably grass-fed)

3 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons brown sugar

2 tablespoons sesame oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust for spice preference)

3 green onions, chopped (reserve some for garnish)

1 cup cooked rice (white or brown)

1 cup steamed broccoli (or any vegetable of choice)

1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

Optional: Sriracha or gochujang for extra heat

Instructions

Prepare the Marinade: In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, minced ginger, and red pepper flakes. Stir until the sugar is dissolved and the ingredients are well mixed.

Cook the Beef: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking up the meat with a wooden spoon (about 5-7 minutes). Ensure it is cooked thoroughly and any excess fat is drained.

Add Flavor: Pour the marinade over the cooked beef in the skillet. Stir to coat the meat thoroughly. Continue cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly and clings to the beef.

Prepare Serving Bowls: In serving bowls, place a generous scoop of cooked rice at the bottom. Top with the savory Korean ground beef.

Add Vegetables: Place the steamed broccoli (or your choice of veggies) on the side or on top of the beef and rice.

Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. For those who like extra heat, drizzle with Sriracha or gochujang.

Enjoy! Serve immediately and enjoy your hearty Korean Ground Beef Bowl!
